Assets overview

Build and maintain the asset registry that inspections run on.

Assets are the physical items your team inspects. The quality of your asset registry directly affects scheduling, technician efficiency, and protocol quality.

Before you start

  1. Choose the correct module first.
  2. Confirm naming and asset code conventions for your team.
  3. Decide which lifecycle states your team actively uses.

What you can do on the Assets page

  • switch between granted modules,
  • search by display name or asset code,
  • filter by inspection status,
  • filter by location,
  • include or hide archived assets.

Two different statuses to understand

Lifecycle status

Lifecycle status describes whether the asset is operational:

  • Active
  • Inactive
  • Archived
  • Retired

Inspection status

Inspection status describes compliance urgency:

  • Action required
  • Overdue
  • Due soon
  • On track
  • Unknown

Use inspection status for planning. Use lifecycle status for record management.

  1. Filter to Action required and Overdue.
  2. Confirm each asset has a clear location and code.
  3. Archive assets that are no longer in service.
  4. Review any assets with unknown inspection state.
